We detest to pile on with the problems / complaint about the new SPOT watches , but Peter Rysavy has some “ tips ” on how to kill your Abacus SPOT vigil :
Take off a sweater . rival a thermoregulator . Have a co - doer touch your watch . All of those actions can at least temporarily disable your Abacus watch . Multiple users have already account the problem over at the SPOTstop forum ( here and here ) . And I have had it happen to mine twice already . The first time I had n’t even realized that had occur . All of a sudden the watch beeped , I look down , and saw a screenland show me the metre and my timezone . After that , it took some fourth dimension to download all my groove information again . I conceive the watch had some sort of glitch communicate with the connection and forgot about it . Then tonight I total in from being outside ( in the Northeast we had a balmy day and it was over 30 grade “ warm ” ) and took off my jumper . We have stale and dry air , and there is a fair bit of static electricity . I felt the tiny sparks . I looked at the lookout man and the screen was beat . I tried the three - finger salute for the Abacus ( crusade all three buttons on the right side – I ’m not sure if it ’s the same for all the other sentinel ) to reboot it , but nothing much seemed to happen . The lookout finally grow back on a few minutes later . The custom vigil face I downloaded remained on the watch , but I lost all my download subject matter . The time had reset to 12 midnight on January 1st . It pick out about 5 minutes to synchronize the time ( and get the metre and timezone cover ) , and another 5 to download the channels .
