“ I have made the very difficult determination to not render to Batwoman next time of year , ” Rosesaid in a statement . “This was not a decisiveness I made light as I have the utmost respect for the stamp , crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles . I am beyond appreciative to Greg Berlanti , Sarah Schechter , and Caroline Dries for not only hand me this incredible chance , but for welcome me into the DC population they have so beautifully created . give thanks you Peter Roth and Mark Pedowitz and the squad at Warner Bros. and the CW who put so much into the show and always believed in me . give thanks you to everyone who made time of year one a success — I am truly thankful . ”
The function will now be reforge with the time of year second of the showplanned to air in January 2021 .

Television , the CW and Berlanti Productions thank Ruby for her contributions to the achiever of our first season and wish well her all the skilful . The studio apartment and mesh are firmly committed to Batwoman ’s second season and long - term time to come , and we — along with the show ’s gifted originative team — look forward to sharing its raw direction , including the casting of a new lead actress and extremity of the LGBTQ residential area , in the coming month . ”

Sunday was the season one finale of the show and wasRose ’s net episode . There ’s no Book on how , or if , the show will explain the change or , frankly , why it chance . ( One possibility is itcould be touch on to injuriesshe received on set and how / if she healed from them . ) But it ’s certain to set off a firestorm of speculation , both as to the reasoning behind this sudden exit , and who could maybe fill up Rose ’s important and impose shoes .
