Though Harley and Ivy are clearly a match , Halpern explained that neither of them was really in a tidy aroused space in Harley Quinn ’s first time of year , and putting the two characters together just for the rice beer of it would have been a disservice . According to the showrunner , “ Our thinking was we did n’t desire Harley to stand out decently back into another family relationship when she was on a journey for self - discovery . That felt like selling out her character . ”
“ For Ivy , we finger like it was important for our edition of the case , who has a bit of societal anxiety and neurosis and scars from her life ( we get into that more in upcoming eps ) , to operate from that place at first . When you are emotionally hurt and have n’t dealt with your issues , you do n’t always peck the best mate for you .
