A new Fanatics campaign is asking sports fans to enter an alternate universe whereTom Bradytook his talents to the Montreal Expos.

On Dec. 12 (12/12, in honor of Brady’s jersey number), Fanatics Collectibles is launching a Topps 2023 Bowman Draft trading card set featuring the G.O.A.T. ’s first-ever baseball card.

The autographed baseball cards, which show the seven-time Super Bowl champ in an Expos uniform, offer a glimpse into what might have been, had the quarterback caught and not thrown the ball.

The retired NFL player even gets in on the action, channeling a bizarro Brady in a commercial for the creative campaign.

“I caught a lot of Expos fastballs,” Brady says, playing a retired baseball player/car dealer. “But now, here’s my pitch to you. Come on down to Brady Auto, and catch some major-league savings.”

In the commercial, legendary MLB stars and former Expos playersPedro Martinez,Vladimir Guerrero Sr.and Larry Walker reminisce in a Montreal bar called Brady’s Brasserie and marvel at the exceptional play of their former teammate and future MLB Hall of Famer — who won seven World Series rings, three MVPs, and had 649 home runs.

“That guy just never let us lose,” Walker says, as the trio watch Brady’s car commercial play over the bar.

“Except to the Giants,” Martinez joins in, referring to theSan FranciscoGiants.

“Twice!” Guerrero Sr. jokes, a reference to Brady’s two Super Bowl losses to theNew YorkGiants in real life.

As his alarm clock flashes 12:12, the future Fox Sports lead analyst wakes up with a Bowman card on his nightstand and looks into the middle distance with a mixture of seeming relief and awe — maybe at what could have been.

Sportswear company Mitchell & Ness (who hit a home runwith the recent release of their autographed Philadelphia EaglesPrincess Diana/Kylie Kelcekelly green jacket) are set to offer a limited number of retro No. 12 Montreal Expos jerseys.

All of which is sure to make a celebratory day for Brady fans — or at least have them singing what he calls in the car ad his “Thomas Promise.”
