If you ’re like me , you looked at this word-painting and the name “ Three - Pendulum Rotary Harmonograph ” and feel confused and a little bit threatened . But fear not ! Turns out it ’s one of those fun spirograph - like affair you see at science museum .
Unlike aspirograph , aharmonographuses pendulums ( or else of human campaign — I mean , I ’ll go to the gym if I ’m gon na shape out , be intimate what I mean ? ) to make its elegantLissajous bender .
This one uses three pendulums , which creates some pretty complex and coolheaded - looking patterns , even better than the exonerated plastic spirograph I used in third grade . The labor is n’t even all that intemperately : bet like it take a bit of careful balancing , but the actual construction is jolly standard woodshop kind of stuff . Pretty cool ! [ Karl SimsviaMAKE ]
