Riding a motorcycle is a very solitary experience — that ’s half the appeal . So who knew how much I would like being able-bodied to chat to other rider or even use my iPhone ?

For all the noise that comes on the undefended route , the G4 ’s microphone was good at picking up my voice from within my helmet . I did n’t sound awe-inspiring , but those I spoke with could understand me just fine , even up to highway velocity . The button are easy to push , even with glove on . Battery life , charged from USB , was reasonable — hour of use , day of understudy .

Because the G4 time on to the outside of my helmet , its relatively gravid control fuel pod catches the wind . I definitely felt it pull my principal slight to the side on my motorcycle with minuscule wind protection . It ’s sometimes difficult to remember which button presses do what — frustrating and potentially dangerous while cruise . Occasionally music from my iPhone would cut out , then occur back at random — typically Bluetooth quirk . The draw - and - loop speakers do n’t sound amazing for euphony , although they ’re loud and clear for voice .
Should I Buy It?
For riders who need to babble out to pillion passengers , other rides , or use their phone , the modular Scale Cardo G4 is a better alternative than even helmets with Bluetooth build - in . Just do n’t expect it to voice as serious as earbuds .
