Star Wars ’ relationship with Toys haslong been an intrinsical part of the franchise ’s history . But there ’s something about a Calendar filled with advertising for miniature old and new , while also at the same time invariably remind you when you could go out and corrupt new toy , that is baffling to perceive .
And yet , such a thing subsist at least in a promotional capacity , rather than something being given out to Joe Public . IGN were of late post said Calendar , with each day commemorating either a vacation or a minute in Star Wars ’ history . Each entry is also accompanied by a picture of an appropriate toy , with everything from the quondam school Kenner classics to the latest Hasbro Black Series figure to pick out from .
That in and of itself — once you get past the fact that it ’s basically a Calendar - mold catalog showing you all the howling toys you could be spending money on — is a clean little musical theme , a reckless blend of nostalgia and desire laser - focused at the diehard fan ’s wallet . But the turning into the bizarre begins when you realize that every day in the calender count ’s down the stay on daytime to September 4th , 2015 ( a mere 113 solar day as of written material ! ): a.k.a “ # ForceFriday”,the day the first prescribed merchandise and miniature for The Force Awakens will be available to buy . Because even the day you could by a Kylo Ren action figure for the first time needs its own social media hashtag , these days .

It ’s literally a calendar sate with adverts for miniature , complete with a daily reminder of when you’re able to go out and grease one’s palms even more toys .
I think it ’s just a wonder all this did n’t happen earlier .
