In a recent interview withRolling Stone, theAvengers: Endgamestar, 33, spoke about the public’s fascination with the 23 years between him and wife,Sam Taylor-Johnson, the 57-year-old director he met in 2008 when he auditioned for Sam’s directorial debut,Nowhere Boy,a John Lennon biopic.
“You’re doing something too quickly for someone else? I don’t understand that," he said, about the fact that people judge him for decisions he makes in his personal life.

“What speed are you supposed to enjoy life at? It’s bizarre to me,” he added.
Speaking in general about his life and career, Aaron said, “What you gotta realize is that what most people were doing in their twenties, I was doing when I was 13.”
The couple got engaged in 2009 and announced they were expecting their first child together in January 2010. They welcomed the first daughter Wylda Rae in July 2010 and their youngest daughter Romy Hero in January 2012. Sam also has two older daughters, Angelica and Jessie Phoenix.
Both of the Taylor-Johnsons have had to field questions about their relationship throughout their careers, especially early in their romance.

TheKick-Assstar also addressed his feelings about the public eye on his relationship in a 2017 interview withNew York Magazine’sVulture.
“The attention was intrusive,” he said. “But having to deal with that early in my career probably got me to a place where I can more quickly just go, ‘Oh, f— it’ instead of wanting to rip someone’s head off for asking questions I don’t like.”

“You’re an exceptional woman, there’s really no one I know quite like you. You are the most wonderful doting mother and beautiful role model to our 4 daughters,” he wrote in part of the caption of a black-and-white photo of them embracing each other.
In September 2023, Sam shared a carousel of images in whichAaron posed with her, shirtless,to Instagram. “Summer romance ♥️,” she captioned the post.
